Henek is a Co-Founder and CEO of HYPE.
He was previously part of the first landing team to expand WeWork into the APAC region in 2016 as the General Manager for Asia ex. China – launching 5 locations in Australia, Hong Kong and S. Korea.Previous to WeWork – Henek was the General Manager for Greater China at Airbnb and part of its 2012 landing team that started Airbnb operations in Asia through setting up the Singapore hub. In his various roles with Airbnb, Henek helped grow Airbnb’s presence in the region and oversaw the hyper-growth of the company.
At the start of his career – Henek worked in Bear Stearn, JP Morgan and Macquarie – departing as VP in Sales Trading where he serviced large institutions and funds that traded in APAC. He holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in the USA.
Patrick is a Co-Founder and CSO of HYPE.
Prior to HYPE, he led Airbnb in Korea as General Manager for 4 years, driving hyper-growth in both inbound and outbound travel in one of the world’s most heavily regulated markets. Prior to Airbnb, Patrick was with Google for 8 years as Korea’s Head of SMB Development. As a founding member of the Korean team at Google, he oversaw the hyper-growth of Youtube and advertising businesses. At the start of his career, Patrick worked for EMC as a strategic alliance manager for storage-as-a service (early concept of cloud computing), and with Accenture, as an energy consultant.
He holds a Master’s degree in Electronic Commerce from Carnegie Mellon University and Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialized major on Superconductor from Yonsei University in Korea.
Robert is a Co-Founder and COO of HYPE.
HYPE is a team of passionate Venture Builders that help Startups demystify, unlock, and succeed in Asia. At HYPE, Robert is responsible for overall Deal Ops. In 2012, he helped form the Asia landing team to expand Airbnb into the APAC region. From 2013-2017, Robert relocated to Beijing to lead Business Operations and Strategy and built China operations from the ground up. During his time in Beijing, he grew the team to over a hundred headcount sitting across all business units and was instrumental in turning the China business into the fastest growing market globally for the company. Prior to Airbnb, Robert built a recruitment, e-commerce, and apparel business. Robert is bilingual American born Chinese from Oakland, California and has resided in Asia for the last 12 years.
Ryan is the Managing Director for Korea at HYPE.
Ryan has been leading market strategy and business development within Consumer Electronics, Information Technology and Content industries for the past 12 years. He was previously the Head of Digital Partnerships for Southeast Asia at The Walt Disney Company. In his various roles at Disney, he helped to grow the company’s digital presence in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam) through disruptive partnerships and successfully launched Disney Branded OTT services with key partners in the region. Prior to Disney, Ryan was a New Business Development Lead at Google, based in Tokyo and Seoul, where he built the team ground up, from recruiting, training, managing an acquisition and sales ops team, to expanding new High Potential (HIPO) SMB developments in local markets.
Martin is the Director of Strategic Development at HYPE.
Prior to HYPE, Martin was an integral part of Hired’s successful expansion into multiple APAC markets, having set up and managed operations in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Before Hired, he was an early member of Uber’s Launch Team for China. He helped set up many of the early China markets for Uber as well as managed multiple business units between 2013 and 2016. At the start of his career, he worked in Private Equity at Adamas Asset Management, where he focused on special situations and distressed investments across APAC.
Martin holds a Bachelor Degree in Finance and International Management from Boston University.
Kevin is the Market Lead for Singapore and Malaysia at HYPE.
Prior to HYPE, he was part of Airbnb’s Asia growth team when the company first landed in the region. He was initially the Market Manager for Malaysia, where he led business development, marketing and community building. During this period, the hosts and guests community grew over 10x in major markets like Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Kevin later joined Airbnb’s business travel team (B2B) as a Sales Lead, spearheading corporate sales operations in Asia Pacific. He successfully sold Airbnb’s corporate product to enterprises like Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, Tech Mahindra, and Deloitte. Prior to Airbnb, he also started his own company in the social dining space and had a stint in the insurance industry working as an assistant underwriter in London.
Kevin graduated from University College London with a BA in Economics.
Antonia is a Senior Associate at HYPE.
She was previously positioned as Senior Research Analyst at Oddup – a startup research platform where she made investment recommendations on startups in Asia. She specializes in Fintech, Edtech, Recruitment Tech and Social Media. She has on-stage experiences in startup events, and has published multiple in-depth company, location and industry analysis on media channels such as Economic Times, Hong Kong Economic Journal, etc.
At the start of her career, Antonia was the Data Analyst at Bloomberg where she covered the renewable energy sector in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from University of Hong Kong, and a BA in Economics from University of California, San Diego.
Maurice is a Senior Associate at HYPE.
Prior to joining HYPE, Maurice spent time in Berlin, Germany, working in strategy, business development, and investor relations with a B2B cross-border platform start-up in the Construction sector, and in Buenos Aires, Argentina, working with a venture capital firm, supporting portfolio companies in the FinTech, SaaS, and Social verticals on fundraising and growth strategies. Before entering the start-up space, Maurice worked with Monitor Deloitte, the strategy practice of Deloitte Consulting, in China, where he supported engagements in corporate strategy, market entry strategy, supply chain and distribution strategy, target operating model design, and project management.
Maurice graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, USA with a BA in Mathematics-Economics.
Bolong is a Senior Associate at HYPE.
He was previously a management consultant at Accenture Strategy where he worked with many of the leading financial services institutions across Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. He specialized in digital transformation, go-to-market strategy and led several business cases for his clients. Prior to Accenture Strategy, Bolong also served as project lead on pro-bono consulting projects for non-profits and social enterprises in Singapore, and was formerly with PwC Strategy and Procter and Gamble. He is passionate about using technology to create scalable change and to improve the way we live in future.
Bolong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Joey is a Senior Associate at HYPE.
He was previously an associate at Capital One where he analyzed small and medium sized companies and projects to invest in. Prior to joining Capital One, Joey worked for Lotte Duty Free where he served for developing marketing strategy for China, a new O2O business project, and managing sales, P&L, MD, rents and duty-free license of a branch. He specializes in consumer goods, distribution industry, cross-border trade and tourism. Joey also led a pro bono project in Enactus where he developed and executed expansion strategy for sea salt farmers in Korea.
Joey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Seoul National University, Korea.
She was previously the General Manager for Shanghai as well as the first Chinese employee at GuavaPass – a fitness start-up, acquired by ClassPass. From 2015-2018, she led local marketing growth plans, member retention strategies, day-to-day operations, corporate programs, and over 40+ offline activations to grow GuavaPass’s presence in Shanghai and to build a holistic wellness community.
She specializes in O2O business, fitness industry, community building, business development, and user acquisitions.
Eve holds a Bachelor’s degree in Culture Industry Management from Shanghai Normal University, China.
Carole is the Executive Assistant at HYPE.
She was from a corporate account management and business development background with a demonstrated history of working in various industries, such as Hospitality, FinTech and French wine distribution in international cities. For the wine business she also spent a few years in Shenzhen, China where she helped run the family business and investments into Cambodia. She did her major in international business and hotel management in Switzerland.
Renn is a leadership coach and advisor. He co-founded SNP Communications in 1992 with the mission of finding good people and making their truth persuasive. Based in San Francisco with offices in New York City and Dublin, Ireland, SNP is a premier leadership development consultancy on the forefront of the tech industry. They have worked with founders and senior leaders of iconic Silicon Valley brands including Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Google, Facebook, and Airbnb to name but a few.
Renn is known for helping leaders and their senior teams connect with their true values and mission as the basis for ethical leadership. His approach gives these leaders the permission to speak and act authentically as they build iconic high-performance companies for the long term. When not in Silicon Valley, Renn regularly works with leaders in Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, London, and Berlin.
Prior to SNP, Renn worked in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional staffer and later worked with homeless teenagers in the streets of New York City. He earned his MBA from the University of San Francisco.

Its smartphone application connects drivers with people who need a ride. Its application enables users to arrange and schedule transportation and/or logistics services with third-party providers.
